Just Like Homework
Test your spatial abilities! Guess the 3d shape based on the 2d views.
Why do your homework when you can be playing this game instead?***
How to play
- Click on the smaller boxes in the control area (the lower right of the screen) to toggle cubes on or off. You can see the shape you're forming in the preview.
- When you're done building the shape, hit [SPACEBAR] to check your answer
- Hit [ENTER] to get a new random puzzle
PAQ (Possibly asked questions)
Q: Why didn't you just make the larger cube/preview area clickable?
A: I tried! But the front-most cube at the top layer completely covers the back-most cube of the bottom layer. There's no way to easily access them via mouse-pointer, short of rotating the cube. This also explains why the control area's top and bottom layers were split away from each other. See the image below :(
(If you have a solution or preferred other way of controlling the blocks, please feel free to comment!)
Q: The game says my answer is wrong, but I'm sure it's right.
A: Oops! Unfortunately, I couldn't test all the possible combinations. If you remember the question, please send a screenshot of the views and the correct/incorrect answer.
Future plans
This game was made for the Minimalist Game Jam. (Limitation: you can only use basic geometric shapes for your game.) It's probably buggy, so comment away and I'll try to clean it up!
In my dev wishlist are:
- Sound and music
- A scoring system or timer, for that authentic "school is so difficult" feel
- Introducing a difficulty curve to the problems
Credits
- Made in GameMaker Studio 2
- Tecnico font by Cristhian Gomez
***This game was actually based on one of my subjects in school! Very homework-like.

This exercise was, no joke, my favourite in technical drawing subject. So weird doing these after many years and still enjoying it :P
Thank you for playing. I feel honored. And you just reminded me I should clean this up. I wanted this to work as a fun intro/reviewer for people taking the class.
A Good Idea but I felt it was a bit hard. I think maybe a few easy shapes in the beginning would've helped a bunch. A bit of sound and music would've also bettered the game
Otherwise a good game, visuals were on point.
Thank you for the comment. Difficulty curve sounds like a good idea :D I'll add it to my wishlist.
Thank you. This is super helpful. I'll work on making the controls more responsive and intuitive!
